Export/Import Player Data

Introduction to the Export/Import Player Data tool

The Export/Import Player Data is a tool which allows you to export player data from one database and import it to another. This is an ideal tool if you are using more than one database and would like to keep the play statistics in sync.

For example, you may have your full music collection and Helium Music Manager database at home and a subset of the collection in another database at work. All music you play when you are at work will not be registered in your home database by default, thus the playing statistics will not be correct.

Using this tool will help you to synchronize the playing between your work and home databases so that the home database will always be up-to-date.

The tool will update:

  • Playcounter for each file (Database and Tags)

  • Rating for each file (Database and Tags)

  • Playing history (Database only)

Tips & Tricks

When importing data, entries in the list may have different background color. These colors means the following:

  • Light-red means that the entry is unmatched - Helium Music Manager were unable to automatically locate a match for you. You will need to select the correct match by yourself.

  • Light-grey means that the original data is identical with the matched data and the entry will not be changed.

  • Light-green means that the entry is matched and marked for updating. The action for these entries will be defaulted to Update.

  • White means that the data in your active Database seems more up-to-date than the data from the export file. The action for these entries will be defaulted to Leave.
