Introduction to the Track Filter

The Track Filter is used to filter out tracks shown in the track list. This is useful when you have many of tracks in the track list and just want to show tracks which contain certain information that you are interested in.

Helium Music Manager comes with two different versions of the track filter, one divided into three vertical lists and one which is more similar to a query filter.

The version divided into three vertical lists is default.

Using the Track Filter (Simple version)

  1. Show the Track Filter by clicking View | Track Filter from the main menu.
  2. Select a entry in the leftmost column. The middle column will now display tracklist entries matching the entry selected in the leftmost column.
  3. Select a entry in the middle column. The rightmost column will now be updated to show entries from the tracklist only matching the selections in the leftmost and the middle columns.
  4. Select a entry in the rightmost column to display tracklist entries which matches the selections in all three columns.
Note:
  • The Track Filter will be updated depending on your current Left Sidebar selection.
  • You do not need to select entries in all three columns.
  • When you select al column, the tracklist will be automatically updated.
  • Select the topmost entry in a column (named All) to include all matches for that column.
  • You can change which database field each column should represent by right-clicking the column header and selecting the appropriate field from the context menu.
  • You can change the width of each column as well the height for the Track Filter.
  • The new version of the Track Filter can be dragged to be docked on specific locations:
    • Just below the Main Menu/Main Toolbar
    • Just above the Track List
    • Just above the Internal Player
